The Wolf of Wall Street Tops the List of Filmmakers with Profanity Galore

It's no surprise that Martin Scorsese's 2013 biographical comedy-drama about stockbroker Jordan Belfort would top any list of films packed with profanity. However, according to a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, Jonah Hill takes the top spot as the most foul-mouthed actor in movie history.

Hill's raunchy performance as Donnie Azoff, Belforg's eccentric business partner and close friend, earned him widespread critical acclaim for his uncensored outbursts. But it appears that even Jackson himself may have some competition when it comes to profanity-laden performances on screen.

According to the report, which analyzed 2,000+ movies released since 1960 using software from media analytics company Profane Words Inc., Hill's total count of swear words clocks in at an astonishing 464 instances per minute. For comparison purposes, Jackson lands second place with a still impressive average of just over one profanity every seven seconds.

Other actors who made the top ten most foul-mouthed list include:

1) Jonah Hill - The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

2) Samuel L. Jackson - Django Unchained (2012), Pulp Fiction (1994)

3) Leonardo DiCaprio - Blood Diamond (2006)

4) Matthew McConaughey - Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

It's worth noting that while The Wolf of Wall Street may hold the record for most profanity per minute, it didn't quite manage to top the overall box office figures. That title belongs to 1997's American Pie which grossed an impressive $237 million worldwide.

So there you have it folks - if your idea of entertainment involves wall-to-wall expletives then Jonah Hill is certainly the man for the job!
